“Yes Musselburgh will be holding our AGM followed by a special public event on Mon 27th March in Esk Room 1, Brunton Hall, Musselburgh. The AGM part is open to Yes Musselburgh members only (from 7 -7.30pm), the 2nd part is open to members and the general public, starting at 8pm, running till 9.30pm. It will be a presentation by East Lothian lecturer and researcher, Jim Fraser, talking about his journey to Yes.
Nearly ten years ago 96% of the adult population of Scotland registered to vote in a referendum they were told ‘no one wanted’. Jim was part of that reawakening. His lecture will inaugurate a new, annual, public address called ‘The Kathleen McDonald Memorial Talk’. Kathleen, who sadly died last March, became dedicated to the cause of Scottish independence. In 2017 she sensed a change was coming and in sharing her vision of liberation and civil rights she sparked the restart of Yes Musselburgh.
A warm welcome is extended to everyone interested in hearing about one man’s experience of 2014 and our country’s democratic revolution. Questions and open and extended discussion will follow.
There’s also an opportunity to pick up a free copy of Believe in Scotland’s best selling, authoritative guide to Scottish independence : ‘SCOTLAND the BRIEF’.
Non-members should register for a free ticket via Eventbrite at this link: https://bit.ly/3KPiAZG “
