Hello everyone
I hope you are all remaining well despite the continuing lockdown. It is frustrating not to be able to campaign on the streets and get our positive message about Independence out there in the local community, particularly with the important Holyrood Elections only 12 weeks away.
YES Dunbar Event: Bookings are now open for their next event on 24 Feb – Greener Scotland with Lorna Moodie: What does a Greener, Resilient Scotland look like and how do we build it? https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/o/yes-dunbar-29666990355
Register to Vote. With the Elections approaching it’s a good time to make sure you and family/friends/colleaques etc are registered to vote. The vote is open to those aged 16 and over. Remember all Scottish citizens, EU citizens and most citizens of other countries who live in Scotland can vote. People need to register by 19th April and you can register at the website below:
https://www.gov.uk/register-to-vote
If you wish to consider applying for a Postal Vote in case of tightened corona restrictions or illness or any other problem that might make it difficult for you to vote in person, you need to do so by 6th April. Remember you can always drop your Postal Vote off at your Polling Station on Election Day if you wish, or get someone else to do so if need be.
Regional List Voting I said I would look out a few articles about the Regional List Voting system. I’ve included a couple here but may add more in future. If you know of any balanced articles please feel free to send me links. For SNP members, you can find helpful information on the members pages (Under Events) on the SNP Website, with links to register for a presentation on Both Votes SNP by Stacy Bradley on 18th Feb. A recording of this event for the Lothian Region will become available on the website later for SNP Members to view.
Meantime here is a useful analysis done by Business for Scotland a few months ago

Voting breakdown done by Murray Visentin on his Youtube channel. He has used the Central Region List Voting in 2016 as an example but also has videos on his channel so far for Glasgow and Highland Regions. Other regions will be added in time so it will be worth looking out for his Lothians one. If you click to subscribe to his channel, you’ll get notifications when new videos are added.
Finally we’re in the process of arranging an online Raffle to raise funds for Yes Musselburgh so if anyone is able to donate any nice prizes do let us know! Thanks so much!
That’s all for now folks. Please keep your diary free for our next Zoom meeting on 22nd Feb at 7.30pm and we’ll send details nearer the time.
All the best
Sheila
